Privacy Policy
In compliance with the obligations arising from national legislation (Legislative Decree 30 June 2003 no. 196, Personal Data Protection Code) and EU legislation (European Regulation for the protection of personal data no. 679/2016, GDPR) and subsequent amendments, this website respects and protects the privacy of visitors and users, making every possible and proportionate effort not to infringe users' rights. 

This privacy policy applies exclusively to the online activities of this website and is valid for visitors/users of the site. It does not apply to information possibly collected through channels other than this website.
The purpose of this privacy notice is to provide maximum transparency regarding the information the site collects and how it uses it.

Legal basis for processing
This website processes data on the basis of consent. By using or consulting this website, visitors and users explicitly approve this privacy notice and consent to the processing of their personal data in relation to the methods and purposes described below, including any disclosure to third parties if necessary for the provision of a service.
Providing the data and therefore consent to the collection and processing of the data is optional; the User may refuse consent and may withdraw any consent already given at any time (via the contact form). However, refusing consent may make it impossible to provide some services and the browsing experience on the site may be compromised. 

From 25 May 2018 (the date on which the GDPR came into force), this website will process some data on the basis of the legitimate interests of the data controller.

Data collected and purposes
Like all websites, this website also uses log files in which information collected automatically during users' visits is stored. The information collected may be as follows:

- internet protocol address (IP);
- browser type and parameters of the device used to connect to the site;
- name of the internet service provider (ISP);
- date and time of visit;
- referring and exit web page (referral); 
- country of origin; 
- possibly the number of clicks.

The collection of data and information takes place for the following purposes: 
- in exclusively aggregated and anonymous form in order to verify the correct operation of the site. None of this information is associated with the natural person-User of the site, and it does not in any way allow identification (from 25 May 2018 such information will be processed on the basis of the legitimate interests of the owner); 
- for security purposes (spam filters, firewalls, virus detection), automatically recorded data may also include personal data such as the IP address, which could be used, in accordance with the laws in force on the matter, in order to block attempts to damage the site itself or to harm other users, or otherwise harmful or criminal activities. Such data are never used to identify or profile the user, nor cross-referenced with other data, nor provided to third parties, but used only for the protection of the site and its users (from 25 May 2018 such information will be processed on the basis of the legitimate interests of the owner); 
- to communicate data to third parties that perform functions necessary or instrumental to the operation of the service, such as managing comments on the site.

If the site allows the posting of comments, or in the case of specific services requested by the user (via the Contacts section), the site automatically detects and records some identifying data of the user, including email address and nickname. Such data are understood to be voluntarily provided by the user at the time of service provision, and are processed on the basis of consent. By posting a comment or other information, the user expressly accepts the privacy notice, and in particular consents to the content entered being freely viewable by other visitors as well.
The data received will be used exclusively for the provision of the requested service and only for the time necessary to provide the service.
The information that users of the site choose to make public through the services and tools made available to them is provided by the user knowingly and voluntarily, exempting this site from any liability regarding any breaches of the law. It is the user's responsibility to verify that they have permission to enter personal data of third parties or content protected by national and international regulations. 
Comments are managed through an external service (Disqus), so please refer to the service's policies for further information (see the cookies section). 

data collected by the site during its operation are used exclusively for the purposes stated above and retained for the time strictly necessary to carry out the specified activities. In any case, personal data collected by the site will never be provided to third parties, for any reason, unless there is a lawful request from the judicial authority and only in the cases provided for by law. However, data may be provided to third parties if this is necessary for the provision of a specific service requested by the User (e.g. comment management), or for the execution of security checks or site optimisation. 

Data used for site security purposes (blocking attempts to damage the site) are retained for 7 days.

For the proper functioning of our website we use cookies. To obtain your valid consent to the use and storage of cookies in the browser you use to access our website and to document it properly, we use a consent management platform: CookieFirst. This technology is provided by Digital Data Solutions BV, Plantage Middenlaan 42a, 1018 DH, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Website: https://cookiefirst.com referred to as CookieFirst.

When you access our website, a connection is established with the CookieFirst server to give us the possibility of obtaining valid consent from the user to the use of certain cookies. CookieFirst then stores a cookie in the user's browser in order to activate only those cookies to which the user has given consent and to document this properly. The processed data are stored until the expiry of the predefined retention period or until the user requests deletion of the data. Notwithstanding the above, some statutory mandatory retention periods may apply.

CookieFirst is used to obtain the legally required consent for the use of cookies. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(c) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data processing agreement

We have entered into a data processing agreement with CookieFirst. This is a contract required by data protection law, which ensures that the data of visitors to our website are processed only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

Server log files

Our website and CookieFirst automatically collect and store information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. The following data are collected:

• The status of your consent or the withdrawal of consent
• Your anonymous IP address
• Information about your browser
• Information about your device
• The date and time you visited our website
• The URL of the web page on which the user saved or updated the consent preferences
• The approximate location of the user who saved the consent preferences
• A universal unique identifier (UUID) of the website visitor who clicked on the cookie banner.
